PE Recruiting from MBB with IB Summer Experience

Hi everyone,

I am a recent FT recruit to M/B/B coming from a target with IB internships (1 being at a top BB). I obviously decided to do consulting FT, but was still interested in PE.

(Note: I am aware it's harder to break into PE coming from a consulting background.)

I just wanted to see if anyone here knew what the recruiting process was like coming from consulting.

  1. Is it the same timeline as IB where headhunters reach out to you in July/August with interviews in September?

  2. Is previous IB summer experience a plus?

  3. What HHs usually recruit from M/B/B, and what MM/UMM PE firms, aside from Bain Cap/Golden Gate, are consultant friendly?

Thanks!
