PIK Notes with OID?

With a term loan, I amortize the OID, and recognize "loss on unamortized OID for early prepayment" when I pay the debt down early. Would I do the same for a PIK note that I am paying down? If so, would I calculate "% of principal paid down" using the PIKed up balance or the starting balance?
