Private Equity Intern pay - London
Do you know what compensation could one expect for an Off-Cycle Private Equity internship in London?
I know that such internships are very limited and that PE experience is valuable, however, I wanted to known if one would be able to cover living expenses.
depends on how much you spend, some kids can't live without their £400/week studios
It is more of a question, whether I can expect to get by (1500-2000 PS/month range) or still manage to save and perhaps make payments towards my student debt (3000-4000 PS/month range that is typical for banking).
Depends on the firm but several big players pay between £1200-2000 per month, pretty awful compared to banking.
Is it also the case for middle-market funds or also for "mega" funds?
One of the three MF's pay 2k per month. Not sure about MM funds but can't imagine they pay better compared to MF's
I believe ~ £2k is the norm for MM / MF, with food and cab expensed. Enough to get by for sure but you won’t save up.
Can confirm - Interning in a MM fund with food + cab expensed after 9pm.
I once interned at a PE MF - pay is £2k, if you are lucky you get food expensed. Best you can hope for. but yeah, pretty ridiculous compared to banking given that you act as de facto Analyst.
Does anyone know if bonuses are a common thing at Carlyl, KKR, Blackstone etc ?
