Private Equity Recruiting after 3rd Year (Consulting)
How likely are PE funds to look at a candidate with 3+ years of experience Pre-MBA? i.e. 3.5-4 years
I'm currently a consultant 2 years in at a T2 firm (S&, Deloitte S&O, OW) and applying for MBB as a lateral hire.
Assuming I get into an MBB firm, I'd love to recruit for PE (much easier than recruiting from my current firm), but I'm concerned that this would either mean:
1) Leaving the new firm soon after joining, which would hurt a B-School story and not look great on a resume
2) Waiting until a year has passed, at which point I'll be past the point of recruiting (3.5 to 4 years of experience).
Any insights on this?
