Part Time MBA vs. Full time MBA reputation

Anyone know if there're particular views that recruiters/employees have around full time MBA vs professional MBA (working full time professional attending night school) candidates that are looking to transition into IB/MC? Assume non-target private b school and professional mba gmat's waived vs full time.

It's harder to recruit when you're part-time. Sometimes the schools themselves handicap you, meaning career services won't give you the kind of access they will give FT students. It is certainly not impossible, I know multiple people who have ended up at top IB firms from PT MBA. It is certainly more difficult though.

Yeah, I’ve heard of some banks not even really giving PT students looks. I’m at T10 MBA and just did IB recruiting if that helps. I did see a few PT people at different schools end up landing some good gigs this summer, but it was markedly more difficult than my experience from what I was told.

I can’t really help you with the other fields as I don’t have recruiting experience in them.

The major consulting firms do not value PT MBAs very much in most cases (the only PT MBA people I know are senior partners who got it while working for the same consulting firm)

Also, non-target recruitment isn't much of a thing for MBA consultants, so I would strongly advise you against going to a school that doesn't recruit into the jobs you want
