Relative Valuation - 9 month report

Hello,

I'm very new and trying to learn the trade.

Im completing a Relative Valuation. One of the companies im comparing has only reported their figures for 9 months. i'm wondering what the best process is in order to provide a better comparison to other companies who have reported their full 12 months.

i'm taking a guess, would it be to use the current figure posted for the 9 months, divide by 3 and add that on to the total posted?

or do I use the previous 12 months as a guide?

any help appreciated!
