Renting condos downtown NYC in the summer

So, I am starting my summer internships soon. I am looking for an average-priced condo to rent in the summer. I currently pinned down a sweet place at about 3000$ a month in financial district (2 bedroom,). But, tbh I'd rather pay 2000-2500 max. Does anyone have any "insider tips" on where to find cheaper condos in NYC?

1500 per person per month in the city is reasonable. The only issue is your location. For FiDi, you better be getting ridiculous square footage or amenities for that price.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

anaismalcolmI live in FiDi with sick amenities and 600 sq ft. (way more than most of my friends) and I pay 2500...is there a reason why you are doing 2 bedroom instead of a studio or 1 bedroom?

He probably has, you know, friends.

Sharing a room is more fun for pulling sneakies though

I figured he would have mentioned a roommate, or not phrased it as "I'd rather pay 2000-2500." If he has roommates, then yeah, 3k for a 2br is a great, great deal.
