REPE Recruiting Cycle from REIB?
I would greatly appreciate any insight into the recruiting cycle timeline for REPE coming from a real estate coverage group at a BB (REGL). I just started full-time and a lot of my friends in other IB groups have started on-cycle PE recruiting, but I haven’t been able to find much information on whether REPE recruits at the same time. Additionally, I am curious about the role HHs play in the recruiting process. Any guidance into the process would be very helpful, as I haven’t met many people in real estate coverage groups. I am primarily interested in acquisitions. Thanks in advance!
It's similar, but less structured. Very few REPE groups are 2-and-out and thus there isn't as consistent of a need every year. In this industry you need to be proactive in reaching out to HH and firms.
There really is no recruiting cycle. It's more as-needed so it's important to network and stay in front of REPEs you're interested in.
