Reputation of Boston College (Specifically MCAS)?
Being a BC student I'm curious what the street thinks of my school (and therefore my prospects). Searchbar tells me that BC is a solid semi-target, but I've heard through the grapevine that our BB recruitment is starting to get better and want to see if y'all call bull on that. Also in your experience, have y'all seen MCAS students break into IB? (I'm majoring in International Studies and minoring in CSOM Finance if that matters.)
I go to BC. PM me.
BC has a very good reputation on the street. Good presence at many BBs (think Citi, BAML in particular) and some break into EBs. Not the prestige or placement as a Georgetown or Notre Dame, but places better than some Ivies and right there for banking recruiting.
Better than some non-finance oriented ones, like Brown for example? And mind elaborating on what EBs in particular, nobody I know so far has summered at an EB
EBs like Evercore, Moelis, Gugg in the past - but not sure how very recent placement has been there. And yes better than some Ivies like Brown, Cornell, etc.
Never heard of it
:(
Also at BC in MCAS and people definitely respect the school. There are a ton of alumni at Barclays, Jefferies, and Guggenheim I believe.
Nice, econ major? Also how does BC do for AM, probably a target for Fidelity cause HQ in Boston?
Not a target for fidelity.
BC is a good school but gets overshadowed by all the other really good schools in the northeast.
Harvard and MIT outshine them by far for recruiting. Ivy League schools all have pretty strong networks in the northeast, so BC tends to send kids to “their” banks (Barclays, Jefferies, BAML, UBS?) and not much else
