Rosewood Realty - NYC/Aaron Jungreis

Hey guys,

Thoughts on this firm in New York City? I have some experience and I know their focus is multifamily which got crushed but Aaron seems to be really good and other brokers there get deals done. End goal is development, but looking for a good name in-between that transition. Opinion on them if name and getting deals done is important.

If you want to be in IS in NYC, and particularly if you're a younger guy without some kind of institutional finance experience, Jungreis is one of the 4 guys you want to work for.

That said, this isn't the best route to development. Being an IS broker has a few transitions/exits you can make, but development will usually require some kind of project management or finance background. You could do IS-> Finance role->development, but take it from a guy whose done the I'll do this job so it'll get me the job that'll get me the job I want....it often doesn't work out in the way you want and will require and MBA/MS RE. If it'll require that, you might as well bite the bullet and do it earlier and cut out one of those in between jobs.

Yup I'm at a worse firm lol so Rosewood is a step up for sure and he's a great broker from what I've read. I've had interviews with JLL/Cushman/etc for analyst positions on teams which I'm willing to do but also I see this role as a potential to make good money and learn from one of the best. Not sure which is the best at this point considering the competition out there right now and I'm not too far removed from undergrad.

Aaron Jungreis is arguably one of the best (and most individually economically successful) commercial real estate brokers in this country. He also is one of the hardest working in the business - hands down. The earlier Michael Jordan analogy is apropos.
