RUBS Utility Programs in CA
I am underwriting a lot of older CA multi deals, primarily in LA area. I understand that implementing a RUBS system on new construction/development is not legal effective Jan 2018 (ie submetering utilities is required). Does anyone know if a RUBS system can be introduced to an existing building that does not currently employ it, post the 1/18 implementation date? Thanks.
Not sure either, but maybe ask your property management company. I'm sure they'll know the answer. Curious what you find out.
