SAT Score 1380 to 1400

Hey WSO,

Many people will probably give me shit for asking this, but I could not find a direct answer by searching. I got a 1380 on the SAT and I have been told by a recruiter that one of the firms to which I am applying has a cutoff of 1400. Would it be a bad idea to list my 1380 as a 1400 on my resume, or could I potentially get in trouble for that? I feel like I have a strong resume for the position and have talked to a few people there, so I want to avoid getting dinged because of a score 20 points too low.

Thanks.

you put your SAT on your resume?

It's fairly common in the U.S. for BB, headhunter, and M/B/B recruiting

The only time i've been asked for my SAT score was MBB, never for a bank. And I never include it on my resume I just provide it if specifically asked for it.

Your contacts aren't strong enough. I got a 1260 on mine and still got 2 front office BB offers. If you are really concerned, and im assuming you are, leave it off entirely. Chances are if your resume ia good enough otherwise, no one will give a shit about your scores. It is used to weed people out, not find great candidates.

i would list it as 1380 on your resume, if they feel you are qualified otherwise, they won't ding you for the 20 pts. i've listed my sat score as lower than was on the qualifications required and still gotten the interview before as they look at the resume holistically (sometimes...otherwise you're fucked).
