Should I ask interviewer how to prep for my interview?

I have an interview coming up with a hedge fund. Spoke with the interviewer (an MD or equivalent) over the phone already and we seem to get along pretty well.

Both the job description and his description of the job duties are fairly broad.

Would it be a good idea to email the interviewer and ask him something along the lines of "I want to make sure I am prepared for our upcoming interview. Are there any particular skills that you suggest I brush up on?"

I dont want to come off as a dumbass, i just want to make sure I know my shit.

Thoughts?

I would most definitely NOT do that. 1) you may come off as a sucker 2) you're setting yourself up for disaster by giving him an opportunity to dig very deep on a topic you can't possibly master as well as him 3) ask WSO, that's what we're here for.

Just do your due dil about the fund, know what their investment policy is, learn as much as you can about it and relax. Keep in mind this is his job so he knows more than you.

What type of strategy is the fund running?

Without giving away too much, this firm actually handles numerous different funds. They basically want me to run risk reports, calculate P/L and research securities in all asset classes

If you have any college alumni at the firm, you could ask them what the interview would be like. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking general inquiries to make yourself the most prepared. It might be awkward if you asked the interviewer though.
