Should I have had a response?
Submitted an application this morning for a position at a consulting firm. Used a partner as a reference (after an informational interview earlier where he said I could). I sent him both a follow up from our earlier string of emails as well as when I entered the referral it would have gone to his email to approve it. I didn't get a response. I had the conversation with him about a month ago, do you think he forgot it? Did he just not think it was necessary to confirm that he got it? Should I take any additional steps. When we had the conversation he said to follow up with him if I don't hear anything a week after submitting. Should I just wait for the week to go by and then contact him if I don't hear anything?
Wait the week then reach out to your contact, like he said, for sure

Sit tight - unless you specifically asked him to confirm that he received your application, he probably wouldn't be in a hurry to send any reply just yet. Get in touch if you haven't heard anything about your application in 1-2 weeks.
