Silver Point FT Recruitment

Currently an incoming summer at a top RX shop, was wondering if anyone had any insight into the recruitment process for silver point and if it’s worthwhile to go specialized buyside at such an early age. On the one hand, it would be sick to work there especially in the current environment, on the other hand I still want to be able to get drunk with friends and mess around a bit in my 20s.

They take recruit VERY selectively for FT analysts from top targets. Like H/W or network really hard. Very technical, case-based interview process.

Definitely a great entryway into distressed, but I’ve heard bad things about the culture and I’m sure starting out in Greenwich is not ideal for the lifestyle u wanted

in previous years they've ran the FT and SA processes concurrently over the summer with info sessions and a pitch competition over the academic year. Again, a very closed and selective process. Unsure if they open up to any other schools besides H/W at the undergrad level.

Went through the process myself - super selective and analyst driven. Current analysts are sourced directly out of Wharton and the top investing orgs (WITG, GPS, PIA). They'll interview you if you go to Harvard, NYU, Columbia, et, but it's more for courtesy. If you fit the Wharton bucket, I would try to reach out to one of the analysts. That being said, they've historically hired kids with 4.0, top on-campus involvement, and strong investing internships. If I remember correctly, all the analysts started there as a summer or came from well-respected fundamental shops. There were none from RX, so might say something.

Good luck with having free time. If you're at PJT, HL, or EVR, you're about to get rocked...
