So I had my interview
Where he asked me three questions.Walking through my resume
e asked me about my internship at a retail brokerage. Finally he asked me about why I want to be a Banker ?To this I replied that it was because of the exposure as well as the strong platform it builds for you.
After this he pretty much opened up for questions. Did I really screw this up somehow?
was this the first round?
takingacrap, what kind of interview was it? a first round phone interview?
also can you quote EXACTLY what you said for last q?
Don't take it too close to heart and/or too personally. I once interviewed with a BB. Everything was going fine until one senior interviewer walked in and I pretty much knew from the start he was up to no good. He must have had a bad day and we didn't click... Next thing I knew the HR walked in to tell me the "disappointing news." Shit happens, as it were.
I don't get it.... Why is it a bad sign if he opened up for questions? How does this possibly signal that you might not make it past this round??
You were only asked three questions and nothing relatde to finance/accounting?
my reply to the last question" Because I find the work exciting. Having had internships in other areas of Finance, I know that there is no other job that provides the amount of exposure that I banking does. In addition, it also provides me with a solid platform for my career whatever path I may take" This was toughly my answer with a slight elaboration.Did I just fuck it up? Prospie, umm if i thought that I had no chance he might have thrown me out because he wanted me to stop wasting his time.
I'm not sure what having only 3 questions means. I think it depends on the interview round like some have said.
As far as him asking if you have any questions....I really hope you did. That's a pretty typical move for an interviewer. The questions that you ask the interviewer can say a lot about both your interest level and knowledge of the company. And if you ask the right questions, you can usually get a good conversation going with the interviewer. This will reflect your communicative abilities, which is often good fodder for interviewers to judge you on. This usually ends up making the interview very relaxed as well.
that's a pretty standard interview if it was for first rounds.
mikesdaboss,
THREE questions is typical for a first round? that's pretty short...
