Stub Bonuses for first year analysts
Hey everybody - kind of confused about how bonuses/stub bonuses work. If i start on the regular cycle (end of summer) and my firm pays bonuses out in Jan, I should get a stub bonus, correct? Does this mean I won't get another bonus until January of the next year (so a year and a half later than I first started)? Thanks for the clarification.
A stub bonus is a "portion" of the full bonus for people who come in after the calendar year has already begun. It'd obviously then be in January.
Your first full bonus would be the following Jan.
And so I'm assuming if one stays the regular two years as an analyst, they're only going to get a stub in Jan and then only one more bonus the next jan, and then leave half a year later? that sucks
Is there any way to reconcile the lost bonus by leaving to PE? Do analysts on the CY bonus cycle ever leave early - 1.5 year mark?
