Target with no ECs

Hi everyone,

I'm from a target university, where every BB recruits on campus (excepted UBS, don't know why?). Anyway, I would like to land a summer internship in IBD and I am very motivated with this but the problem is I have no real extra curricar.
I mean, i have been involved in (very) few societies and nothing outstanding. I have no leadership position there, and I don't practise any sport on a regular basis.
Don't misunderstand, I enjoy going to club or bar with friend, and I'm not a complete nerd. It's just that I like to come back home and take a beer after school, instead of running everywhere to do "activities".

My only original ECs is that I used to be in a railway modelling club for 7/8 years before college, but i'm afraid that it may look weird because this is a kind of "childish" passion.I mean, if I was 25/30 years old i wouldn't be impressed by someone who play with trains...

Am I wrong, or should I start to reconsider my career aspiration?
Thx guys!

You don't need to 'reconsider your career aspirations'. What year are you? Go join something now dude you still have time. I like going back to my place and grabbing a beer as much as the next guy, but its going to make your life a lot easier if you go out a do something a few days a week.

Either you don't go to a target school or English isn't your first language. If English IS your first language, I would work on fixing simple grammar and spelling before worrying about what EC's you should go after.

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

Indeed I'm from Europe so English is not my first language, sorry for my spelling !

And I'm in penultimate year so this is my last opportunity for summer internship, I don't have that much time! About my motivation, I have already been to half a dozen networking events, talked to a lot of people in the industry, I read WSJ everyday and so on... But in Europe, you need to apply online and I don't have contacts in every banks.

I assume that if nobody said anything about my railway modelling stuff, it is because you guys think that it is not great extra curriculars right?

Do not put your childhood train modeling club as an extra curricular...MAYBE under interests and I stress the MAYBE
