Thoughts on Mubadala, ADIA, PIF

Hi WSO,

Is working for these companies in their Gulf offices a CV killer/burns your CV when you leave and move back to USA/UK and try to go into lets say UMM PE or B school (though preferably not B school) or is it viewed pretty positively given the investing experience you gain, working on large publicised transactions, SWF prestige etc.?

Any info on comp in local currency would be cool as well

Thanks

I think it can be tough to transition back to the US/UK but one route would be to work at another SWF based in US/UK (e.g. CPPIB, Temasek) before going to another PE firm, which I have seen before. Alternatively working in a GCC family office that is based in London can be your route back (again seen this before)

I'd check linkedin, if you struggle to find more than 1 or 2 who have done it I think thats your answer (i'm not saying it rules it out but just very hard)
