Trading trainee job offer

Hello,

I just graduated with an undergraduate finance degree this May from a top to business school. I've had trouble finding a good job and I got an offer for as a graduate trading trainee for a broker-dealer firm in NYC. The firm has about 50-100 people. They execute equity trades on behalf of hedge funds, asset management firms, etc. So once I get my Series 7 I will be executing trades. My only concern is that there seems to be no type of company analysis when you are simply executing trades on behalf of clients. Also, this position wouldn't build any excel skills, so I'm concerned about exit opportunities. Is it possible that executing trades for a broker-dealer can lead to a Sales & Trading job at an investment bank down the line?

Also, this may seem like a dumb question but a job executing trades for clients at a self described broker-dealer make you more of a broker and not a trader, correct?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
