Undergrad class rings..
Deciding if I should purchase one or not..
How many still wear them....?
Should they be worn to interview?
Diamond in center or is that tacky?
Yellow or white gold?

Bump I'm curious on people's opinions of wearing a class ring in the office
Terrible idea unless an Academy grad or some other extenuating circumstance.
Personally, I think they are always tacky. Granted I'm not a professional so I couldn't tell you how your co-workers would perceive you; nevertheless, I cant tell you that most people that I know think they are tacky and pointless. Just my opinion though
So horribly tacky its stupid
I'm glad that my sentiment was corroborated by the that of a professional. Consequently, I take back what I said about not knowing how one's co-workers would react to someone wearing a class ring; they will judge you horribly, and also think its tacky..
I wear mine. Yellow gold, school design doesn't have a stone. I could give two shits what people think about it. I'm proud of the school I went to, so I'll wear it. You shouldn't be insecure about wearing a class ring, otherwise the next step involves you being one of those bankers that doesn't wear his wedding ring because jewelry is "unprofessional". Believe me, there are guys who subscribe to that line of thinking.
I do the same--mine is plain gold with our crest. Understated, professional, and tasteful. Most alumni from my school also get rings, and most stay involved their whole lives, so it makes sense.
Don't do it. Graduating college really isn't that big a deal and unless you went to a military Academy or Citadel people will break your balls.
Looks like we have a few ND alumni on the board.
I wear mine - my school's ring looks more like a signet ring than a huge West Point-like ring.
I've had a director bust my balls for it before, but that's just the kind of guy he is.
Genuinely curious: does it not bother you when you are working? If I am on the computer, I always need to take my watch off because it rubs up against the keyboard and its irritating; I feel like this problem would only be worse with a ring.
Doesn't bother me - I guess I'm just used to it now. It's really not a big ring anyways.
To what end would one wear a class ring...? I didn't buy one because I thought it would be a waste of money.
There's probably a difference between wearing one in Houston versus New York.
You know, if you really have balls you'll wear your high school class ring. Take that, suckas!
I work in US but didn't come through the US education system, so didn't know such things existed. I'd find it difficult to take someone seriously who wore more man jewelry than necessary. Limit yourself to wedding ring, cufflinks, a HP-12C. Add a tie pin at most. Skip the school pride band. It would be like wearing a school tie.
Didn't get one for college, did get a gold one for my boarding/prep school. Usually wear it to events otherwise it remains in the case.
Don't get one for undergrad.
