Upper-Middle Market

All,

Wanted to post a topic drilling down to specifically upper-middle market PE firms. Other topics on here have mentioned MM recruiting as being less structured and that breaking in can be done via cold-calling, if necessary. Wanted to see what people's thoughts are on some larger/upper MM, if the process is as "casually" structured as the smaller MM's and what the best way to get in contact with them would be (assuming they have enough people to have some form of bureaucracy).

Thanks everyone!

SanityCheck:

Maybe "small" mid market recruiting can be done through cold calling and networking but every interview I've ever had from mid level to upper mid has all been through the top 5 headhunters.

Headhunters are the key and by far the best use of your time for PE recruiting if you're in banking.

mind sharing who are the "top 5" headhunter groups?
