UTSC CO-OP or Rotman Commerce - Accounting

Hello, which one of these schools is better for accounting Rotman or UTSC co-op? Which one would give me better opportunities in the long run. Thank you for the responses.

Rotman has lost a lot of its reputation as an undergraduate program, its recruitment doesn't compare to the likes of Queen's and Ivey. It's in the same tier as the Schulich, Lazaridis, Sauder & co. UTSC is a satellite campus with lackluster co-op, I'd go for Rotman because of the alumni network you could leverage due to its MBA rep.

Going to go against the popular opinion here - if your goal is accounting (as in Big 4) then I would recommend UTSC coop. The firms hire a ton of people for busy season co-ops and you are only competing against other coops, whereas in the summer everybody and their mom are looking for an internship and the firms don't really need summer interns (they aren't busy at that time).

However, if your goals are IB, consulting, or some other super competitive field, Rotman might have a slight edge - although you'd be better of at Ivey or Queens in this case.

Overall, if you are risk averse, take co-op. If you're ready to take things into your own hands and network like crazy and shoot for the top, go to Rotman.
