UVA McIntire or Georgetown MSB for IB
Transfer that will be a 3rd year next year. I am split on which school to attend having been admitted to both UVA McIntire and Georgetown MSB. Which is going to give me the better opportunity to land a position at an elite boutique or GS/MS/JPM. Also which is better represented on the street and in PE/HF?
Thanks in advance.

See my previous post on that recent transfer thread. I've worked at two BBs and GTown was a much more prevalent theme in both, they were the most represented in my analyst class, even more so than Wharton. I didnt know it before coming to Wall Street, but they're everywhere, theres 3 in my group alone (out of 14 analysts).
I havent seen much UVA at either place, theres certainly a handful here and there, but its not a dominant theme like a Wharton, Harvard, GTown etc. where youll see multiple kids in a single group from there.
One thing to note in terms of HF placement, is there are a few prominent Tiger Cubs (ex. Lee Ainslee from Maverick and John Griffin from Blue Ridge) who are from UVA, so perhaps theyre in more force in the HF world, but thats just a random data point and I dont know for certain.
Dude there's a search function on here. There are a lot of threads on this that would certainly answer your query.

.
I work with more G-Town students than UVA at a BB.
Flip a coin.
Georgetown has the overall better academic reputation. It also sends the same amount of kids to the street as UVA, but has only half as many students. On the other hand, UVA has a much hotter girls and arguably, better social life. Not sure about PE/HF representation.
Georgetown is not very Greek (though has fratty people) while UVA has a strong Greek scene. Something to consider, especially since being a transfer could affect your rush or pledge process if you choose to go down that path.
Was in the same position as you a couple of years back.Went to a non target in DC then transferred to Gtwon. Also got into UVA. For IB, Gtown is competitive but if you ask me, UVA is an easier way out as far as IB recruting.
Your choice should be based on city vs middle of nowhere. Both have nice campuses and UVA is more fratty. No regrets whatsoever. DC is also an awesome city (if you dont stay there too long)
I think Georgetown is better represented (at least at my BB and a couple others than UVA), but UVA does pretty well as well... I think more boutiques go to UVA than Georgetown, but may just be one or two more...
UVA certainly can get you to the street, but Gtown is still better.
I am biased, but one unbiased way to consider this question would be to look at data that likely correlate with placement on the street. How do the schools place at a financed focused MBA program like Wharton's?
See the below link. Gtown is 5th at Wharton, while UVA is tied for 16th. http://poetsandquants.com/2011/08/07/top-feeder-schools-to-whartons-mba…
At Harvard, Gtown is tied for 11, while UVA is 18th.
Biased but Georgetown definitely
If and only if:
You prefer having things to do besides what is available immediately on and around campus. Albeit most Georgetown kids never leave their beloved bubble.
Internship opportunities during Fall and Spring
Greek life does not equal the only social scene on campus; given that you are going in as a junior I figure you would something that is less clannish
But in terms of recruiting opportunities, I think both schools are great. But as you have heard, Georgetown does have a bigger presence on the Street
What a lot of posters above are not understanding is that this is for the undergraduate level. For undergrad, UVA 100%. It's the #2 undergraduate business school in the country. Georgetown is somewhere around 15. As a current UVA McIntire student, I can tell you that there are BBs accepting students. Goldman had an info session last week...a Houlihan vp and analyst taught me valuations last Thursday...
For grad MBA, I'm pretty sure darden is above Georgetown as well. I think at darden you'll find an even stronger IB presence, but that's something else...
As a last post from me, 40% of McIntire undergrads enter investment banking. There are some Goldmanites (but you better be the top star here), I also know of a kid who went straight to Blackstone. You can get PE placement here if you really want it...
Personally, it seems like placement is this 1) IB 2) Strategic Consulting 3) Big Four (advisory, audit, tax). For me, I'm looking at financial services audits at PwC. Mom was a director there for 17 years, so that's my bias.
This thread is 2.5 years old so I don't think OP needs any further opinions.
But regardless, if you think that undergraduate "rankings" mean anything, you are sadly confused.
Georgetown's placement into investment banking is far stronger than UVA. There are multiple recent threads with actual placement statistics showing that Gtown is one of the top feeders into banking, close behind Wharton. So please, don't use personal anecdotes about how UVA is better "100%" without doing proper diligence on the actual facts.
I think UVA is a fantastic school nonetheless but Georgetown clearly has better placement into IB.
Disclosure: I did not go to either school.
