Vatic Labs

Any info on the firm?

How is it doing these days?

I heard they are expanding into long term stat arb (hedge fund-like) now. Is it a good or bad sign (was not a good sign for the likes of Teza for sure)?

How is the culture/hours/bonuses there?

Curious as well, particularly on the bonus and performance points.

I've got some connections there. Seems like they're keen on expanding and probably had a good 2020 (on account of doing HFT in a killer year), but basically none of their senior hires have stayed much beyond 2 years. Plus their CTO just left and they just got a replacement COO. Also seems like they were doing poorly and laid a lot of people off when they moved from SF to NYC

They do have (ridiculously) smart people though. Culture is open/collaborative, and the CEO's basically trying to emulate Rentec.
