Walker and Dunlop
Quick question here. What's the reputation of Walker and Dunlop. Not the compensation, benefits, or work/life balance, but simply the reputation of this company?
Is this place considered a chop shop or is it regarded more highly?

regarded more highly
^Def agree
Depends on the role, but I would say generally well regarded especially in the DUS Lending / Multifamily Brokerage space.
I'm assuming capital markets is more well regarded than their investment sales teams?
By capital markets you mean Debt Placement?
Same tier as Berkadia/Newmark/JLL, etc. So decent.
It seems like they have invested pretty heavily in their IS teams the past few years.
Very highly regarded, can’t speak to hours but I would imagine the culture is good
Interned at WD as well as JLL.. They’re strong and only getting stronger. DCM/ GSE groups are super strong
Very strong.
GSE folks are top-notch, less impressed by their ability to get the best terms from banks and lifecos but not a deal-breaker.
It is probably the most cohesive and complete platform for investment sales teams in the country. There are scrubs here and there, but all-in Mikkelson has built a fantastic platform. Culture is very good there, and they make an effort to connect the various teams across the country with one another. Directionally, it is heading the right way while CBRE and JLL are trending down (they're all just little fiefdoms at those two shops) and Newmark/ARA is holding steady.
Question for you - What do you think of Northmarq? I know one of their MDs based out of a southwest market that has been in responsible for starting new offices..
I am not in brokerage anymore so not as connected to that market as I once was but they they seem to be killing it in recent years
Northmarq is dece.. but probably at or below JLL/Berkadia/Newmark tier for multifamily. Probably below that tier for all asset classes. Then again, tiers are stupid WSO-think, but if you’re gonna use them then that’s where Northmarq falls
