Wealth Management Recruiting Decision
I am a junior, Econ major, varsity athlete from a target school (3.4 GPA). My dream job is private banking at a bulge bracket. Here is my situation:
I have received two internship offers (both in Chicago offices):
1.) AllianceBernstein Private Wealth summer analyst program. Traditional 10-week PWM summer internship with probable return offer on the other side.
2.) UBS year round private wealth analyst. Work as the only intern for a six-person team (3 MDs, 2 Junior Analysts, and 1 intern). Hours are flexible with classes (part time in the school year, full time in the summer.) No training program so all would be learned on the job. Most likely no return offer upon graduation as it would depend on whether there is an opening for a junior analyst on the team.
Which job should I take? Or could I do both (UBS during the year and AB in the summer)? Is the better name brand (UBS) worth the lower chances of a return offer? What would re-recruiting for BB PB look like in both cases?
