What are common entry-level jobs and compensation in Asset Management?

Hi, I'm currently finishing an accounting and finance bachelor's degree at a top 20 business school and will be pursuing an MBA degree right out of undergrad. While pursuing my MBA, I am hopefully going to earn CFA Level 1.

It seems that asset management entry-level careers are more ambiguous and investment banking entry-level careers are straightforward. For example, when I try and look up entry-level careers in asset management, I come across "associate", "junior analyst", "research analyst", etc. and investment banking is just investment banking analyst.

Are these all just different names for the same position? If so, what are some other common names? Specifically, what job title what I try to recruit for if I want to be in Long/Short Equity?

Also, what would be an average all-in compensation for my first job given my credentials?

Sorry for the wall of text, I'm extremely new to asset management. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
