What is the structured products group in IBD? What's their relationship with structurers in S&T (if any)?
I noticed some investment banking divisions have structured products/finance groups (example), but I thought all the "structuring" was done on the trading floor by structurers. What is the difference between the work conducted by the structured products group in the IBD, and the work conducted by structurers on the trading floor?
