What PE Firms Should I Aim For?

1st year analyst considering deferring a year before doing on-cycle recruitment for PE

UG: 4.0 at lower tier ivy in a major people considered hard and mid-tier BB (BAML, Barclays, Citi, CS) in good but not top industry group. Haven't taken GMAT. And Asian male if that matters since I heard it does.

Do I have a shot at MFs or is that pretty much exclusive to HYPWS 3.7+ kids? Is a 4.0 at a low tier ivy worse than a 3.7 at Harvard? I honestly have no idea what types of PE firms I should be realistically aiming for. Are my odds the best for UMM firms?
