What salary would you take to give up ER training?

Hi all-

I currently work as an analyst at a BB in Private Wealth Management, in a more quantitative, portfolio asset allocation focused role. I was recently offered a position internally with an Equity Research training program. When I told my current manager, he was upset, and asked me to put a number on what it would take for me to stay.

Pros of staying: way more chill hours, can continue to study for CFA with no issues (I currently have level I), possibility of great salary boost if he can get my target number, fantastic manager. HOWEVER, there is not much growth from PWM, low salary potential, and not many future opportunities.
Pros of moving to ER: much more interesting work, much more respectable field with better exit opportunities and familiarity on the street. HOWEVER, I'd be staying at an analyst level, while in my current role I'd be up for promotion in January.

My question to you is - would you accept a higher salary to stay in PWM? Or is it just not worth it at all compared to the respect of ER?
