What should I do??
Hello guys,
To put into perspective, Spanish student goes to a target school in Spain, studying economics, aiming to graduate with a 2.1, two international exchanges, one at a top business school in Europe, I am currently in my fourth year out of four - in other words, my last year. Got an internship in risk management at a top IB. Applying for graduate positions in investment banking both in Spain and in the UK. Recently got an offer from a newly created portfolio management firm that is highly quantitative and that acts as a startup - it is agile in its processes - but that is widely known because of its founders - i.e it will involve lots of programming, mainly Python. It is more like private banking than IB. Should I accept the offer? In this sense, would this help my curriculum? If I want to go for a career in IB as an analyst, probably in M&A, I do not know if this would help me since I have done Risk Management and I rejected an offer to continue working there to move to a front office position. Would potential employers appreciate me taking on this position?
Best
Since you've already applied for IB positions, I'd wait and see how that goes before accepting any other offers.
Internship at this fund will take place at a stage the IB positions will not - i.e this fund is offering me to work with them now, banking positions are for August 2018
