Whats the best MBA program I would be able to get in with these SPECS.

Hello everyone. I would really appreciate if I could get some opinions of which MBA programs I should be applying to realistically with these specs. This is a very important to matter for me so please give me your honest opinion.

- Australian Citizen (wanting to apply for MBA at U.S or U.K)
- 3-year degree (B.Commerce), University of Sydney (2014: ranked 72th- The times uni rankings 2014, 38th QS)
- Undergraduate GPA: 3.71/4.0 (Official GPA conversion from Australia to U.S through World Education Services)
- GMAT: 702
- 12 week penultimate vacation internship at Deloitte Sydney (during uni)
- 3 years full time work experience at a large Korean company "Lotte Shopping" (rank 560 FORBES)
- All personal statement and essay fully reviewed through professional organisation (very serious about this)

Dream MBA: MIT Sloan MBA

Realistically at what level am I at? (enough to say, you'd "probably" make it here)

several notes:

  • your university ranking and degree are probably negligible. as long as you come from one of the group of 8, it's probably approximately the same thing to the adcom
  • your internship probably isn't worth listing. i know it's more of a brand name than your main job, but i don't think an internship counts for much -GMAT breakdown might help

you're probably going to have to explain to us WHAT exactly you did during the past three years, as your current description is incredibly brief. depending on how you could spin that, you might have a small chance at M7. however, MIT's MBA is very quant oriented, so you might have trouble there more so than other schools.

recommend you take your GMAT once more- still time before first rounds 2015

.

caveat: how much time have you already spent studying for the GMAT? an approximation is fine, but what would you honestly ballpark it at in terms of hours spent studying? if your answer is above 300, you might have diminishing returns

.

What about extracurricular activities? What is your position at Lotte Shipping? What are your post-MBA goals? All those things come into play for applications.

I am an Australian student looking at MBA programs in the US so I have done some research on the move as well - USyd is a good school and your grades there are pretty good. What's your GMAT breakdown?

Question: what does this mean?

also, as @"matayo" pointed out
you're probably going to have to explain to us WHAT exactly you did during the past three years, as your current description is incredibly brief.

Career progression, how much you took on, what you raised your hand for, and what kind of impact you have had on your company, peers, and community will be the determinant. Plus your Q/V breakdown.

MIT Soan is looking for creative minds in its own geeky way. Can you prove that to them that you can inspire your classmates?

I know im not gonna make it.. to m7 :(
Im not that creative :(

Hows my chances at oxford and cambridge 1 year mba ?

@"sghguos" You have a good shot. These Euro schools generally aren't as competitive as the T10 or even T15 US schools.
