What’s the relationship like b/t 1st-Year Analysts & Summer Analysts?

I’m an incoming 1st year analyst at an EB. I didn’t have a traditional SA experience, I worked directly under an MD at a small LMM boutique, and I worked out of their DC office which only had three people (two MD’s & one VP). I barely had any interaction with their analysts based up in NY.

So I was curious to know what the relationship is like between summer analysts and 1st-year analysts, since both are starting out at the firm at the same time. Do summer analysts view 1st-year analysts more as like a team captain or as a superior? Also, are 1st-year analysts allowed to delegate tasks to summer analysts? Do 1st-year analysts get a say on who gets a return offer?
