When do I start contacting?
Soon to be sophomore at a non-target, I've been searching for a while and have a decent list of 35 - 40 local PWM firms that would be good options for an internship the summer after this coming year.
None of the firms on the list have formal applications for intern positions, it would all be cold emailing/calling.
I have no experience in this so i apologize if i seem naive but my question is, when should i start contacting these firms to inquire about internship opportunities?
Yesterday! Reach out to them now to learn about their background. Keep them in the loop of things for a couple of months and then ask, "how can I position myself for an interview at your firm."
It's never too early. Some people have had to email/call 200+ firms before getting an offer. Make sure you expand your geographical reach; don't limit yourself to just local firms.
Sounds good, I'll get started now then, thanks guys!
