When ur middle of the pack? Try again?

Hiring is more slim this year for sure.

I am nervously anticipating news from a PE firm who's only hiring a few people from the entire country after doing all that recruiting.

I guess I'm in the middle of the pack. Of all of us who were there for 2nd rounds from my school, 60% are either rejected already or had taken other offers. That still leaves me with a few more people and an unknown number of others from sea to sea.

Daunting! At least for me!

The most promising candidates were already hinted that they were were the top, but the rest of us have no clue. I just got asked to tell them if I had other offers or not to help them make the final decisions (good or bad sign? had a girl-friend who said she was evaluing other banks and got rejected on the spot!).

Not knowing how to answer, i just avoided the question all together and just thanked them for telling me whats up.

Now, i'm wondering. If the top people don't take up offers, how would they go down the list? tell the people that had been rejected that suddenly there's a spot again?

i hate being on hold, and not knowing where i stack up.

what are ur guys' and girls' opinions on being middle of the pack, and how it worked out in the end?
