Which banks group Corporate banking and Investment banking together? Best Corporate banking Groups?
Wondering what are the various different corporate banking groups at banks. Which group CB and IB together? What are the hardest and easiest groups to get into?
This is a good thread to start becauase the way many corporate banking roles are represented is confusing. True corporate banking should be within the investment bank.
One easy way to tell - the role should say "CIB" or "I&CB".
Both JP and Citi combine them under one umbrella.
Bump.
Does anyone know what the difference in pay would be for a year first associate at a bank that houses each under the same umbrella, vs separate?
Citi probably has the best corporate banking program when it comes to IBD exposure (imo).
What about if Corporate Banking was your end goal. And you were more concerned about W/L balance?
Can you or someone else elaborate on what it means to "combine" the corporate bank and the investment bank. To use Citi as an example, when I interviewed there I got the impression that on balance lending such as syndicated revolvers and cross sell of products such as treasury and fx were firmly in the realm of CB, anything related to capital markets or M&A was IB and I didn't get the impression CB was that involved. Which if that's the case I don't see how is different than Wells, baml or JPM but I'll defer to more knowledgeable posters
