Why does everybody respond in blue text via email?

Doesn't matter which company either - Is that just an outlook thing? It's all the same shade of blue too.

Why Are Email Responses Blue?

Up there with questions like “why is the sky blue” you may be wondering why all email responses are in blue? It’s a Microsoft default.

Bill Bliss, a founding member of the Outlook team, stated on Quora that they chose blue because it was the best font color that was available (there were only 16 colors at that time), readable on white and had a high contrast to black.

You can change the default settings in Outlook, but we recommend sticking close to the default. Fuschia-colored emails may go unanswered.

It's the default response color. I always switch mine to navy immediately when switching computers. The blue is too gaudy and literally hurts my eyes. Then again, I have the worst eyesight ever.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.
