Winter dress shoes

What are the best options for winter dress shoes? I've seen some dress shoes with rubber treads on the bottom for traction control. which brands would have the best for those? Thanks!

I'd recommend a pair of dress boots - either from an AE or Cole Haan - both have good options with either weather resistant suede, leather and/or rubber soles.

If you have to be more dressy than that, then i'd simply compromise with a pair with rubber soles and/or buy galoshes to go around the outside to protect from salt/snow/wet (this is effectively mandatory if you are going to wear decent dress shoes outside - or you just hate money).

There aren't really any great options other than a dressier pair of Chelsea boots. Kind of sucks. Same deal for water resistant shoes in general...

I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
