Working as a Manny

My sister's friend who graduated from Yale in 07 is working as a nanny after getting laid off. The people who employ are loaded. He's a hedge fund manager and she's an MD at either at MS or JP.. I heard pay is around 1200/week. What do people think about working as manny or nanny while looking for a job?

you could make sure you Manny for an MD Caliber-type and study for the CFA or GMAT while making Potato Salad for the picnic you have to haul 4 "tweens" to. In all seriousness, making $1200 a week and having the chance to study and hopefully network with your "boss" might be worth it in this shitty economy. Just be prepared for you friends to make fun of your apron.

Drexel you had a nanny? Im assuming this nanny came at a hefty price, did you have maids as well? Anyways sounds to me your a spoiled brat with connections. Safe assumptions right? Let me know how your yachting adventure with Kip went.

My friend is the nanny for a family worth billions. They take her on vacation with them, pay for her rent, and buy her stuff all the time. In fact, I believe they subsidized her education as well. Pretty good gig if you can swing it.
