Working for parents' VC firm?

I graduated from a target and currently work at a Silicon Valley VC firm, but my father recently asked if I wanted to work for his firm. The base was significantly higher and he guaranteed bonuses for the first three years. However, I'm concerned about the politics and other complications that would come with working for my parents.

Specifically, I'm worried of what others at the firm would think of me as the partner's son, regardless of ability. I could possibly be trapped in this path for the rest of my life and be prevented from doing what I want to do. How would I abandon the firm without being resented?

If pay wasn't a factor I definitely would have declined to pursue my own interests/dreams, but my father's offer was crazy high, probably way above the average pay for this position simply because I'm his son.

Thoughts?
