Engineering background + real estate experiences / Move to Private equity or Venture capital

Hi guys,

A quick background of myself, double master degrees (engineering and technology business) from a French & US tier 1 target school (excellent GPA), polyglot in 5 languages, have internship experiences in engineering (IT, research, supply chain) ... launched 2 tech startups (in CSR and cosmetic industry) during study (failed but still a big + on the resume) and an internship in a tier 1/2 European VC. After my internship in VC, I missed engineering so I landed in a 18 months corporate development program in a leading real estate company where I did 3 rotations, 2 in engineering (construction and IT) and my last rotation as investors relations/corporate m&a associate. I just finished the program and decided to quit as hours and pays are bad (finished at 11 pm every day and worked during the weekend for a corporate salary). From my personal view:
1) real estate industry is a great industry but i am happy to explore other industries
2) I want to move to investment side
3) I want to have a high paid jobs

At this stage of my life, I want to go to private equity or venture capital to earn more, so I started to apply aggressively in venture capital and realized that I will only have an entry equivalent job in VC/PE where I will be with kids right out of undergrad or grad business school.
So what should be my next move ?
MBA? Consulting? VC analyst (PE analyst) with some 22 years kids whereas I just have 27 this year? M&A? Hedge fund?

I would love to have a not that stressful job and an excellent pay. Engineering pays are so bad...
Long hours are ok. Feel like that PE/VC are a good fit, but I am happy to explore other options.

Happy to have any thought/shares :)

Thanks!

Wow, I wish I was you. What a background. I think you're on the right track with tech-enabled VC. For PE I'd look at industrial firms, auto, aerospace, medical - these companies are full of engineers and if you figure out the finance part, you'll be one of the very few who understand both.
