Critique my plan
I’m 19 and go to an Ivy League school doing Finance and Econ. I have some contacts in real estate, my father works in CRE as a broker (he invests himself and owns a lot of property with development potential).
My plan as it stands is to work for a large real estate developer/REPE firm and work there for 2-3 years then hopefully move to a large REPE firm. My idea behind this is to work for the best (BX, Brookfield etc) and learn from them.
Blackstone’s real estate fund as you all know has returned 17% over the past close to thirty years. If I can get a feel for how they invest and learn a lot. Once I’m in my early 30s then my plan is to start investing/developing myself and utilise contacts through my father and my work.
Are there any critiques or thing’s I’m not seeing with this plan and general advice?
