Autism in S&T?
A little background, graduated last May, work as a freelance business reporter, have internship experience in strategy consulting, and some experience doing cold calling work for a polling institute.
Have been without a job since I graduated (sub 3.0 GPA, nontarget) and I have interviewed for stuff like PE, IB, ER, Consulting, etc., and lots of other stuff to no avail (GPA never came up once).
Im kinda a sperg, I can BS it pretty well over the phone (used to do like 200 cold calls a day) but my social skills are terrible. I can go by just fine over Zoom but I really shut down during in-person interviews and super days.
I was invited for an interview for an institutional sales position at an EB. I wonder if my situation would really hinder me if I were to get the role, and if any other people here are on the spectrum and work in this type of position could tell me about their experience and if it drains them.
My understanding is sales is a very social job where you really need a strong personality to succeed in. Should I even consider moving forward with the role? Should I reconsider even working in finance, to begin with?
