Universities Remote in Fall 2020?
As the title asks...What are your takes on whether or not American colleges and universities will be open in the fall?
There have already been lawsuits filed against schools like Columbia with respect to overcharging for tuition and the quaity of online education. Some schools like Harvard can afford to remain virtual in the fall and they may be one of the first to announce their decision. As a leader in the industry, expect many colleges to follow Harvard if this is the case. However, there are countless universities that will be forced to close up shop forever if they have to be remote in the fall. Without revenues from room and board and a drop in enrollment as students take semesters/the year off, many colleges will be in very tough situations financially speaking. Obviously, no school wants to be the one that has an outbreak but many may not have a choice to open or not. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
What do you guys think?
Large schools will be online in the fall.
It is my belief that most universities will be in-person. I know the revenue hits will be huge even for the largest universities. Michigan, Purdue, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, a lot of the big boys have already said they plan for a full-go fall semester.
