Financial Planing & Analysis vs. Corporate Development
From what I understand, corporate development is more focused on m&a while fp&a deals more with internal stuff. Could someone elaborate on their differences? And how much is fp&a like your run-of-the-mill accounting job (i.e. how does it compare to working at a big4)?

I think you need an MFE for financial planing...

oh, i guess that's something to consider down the line. but i'm looking at these roles as a potential intern.
MFE for FP&A? Assume you're being sarcastic...?

FP&A is basically internal reporting/accounting. DEFINITELY no MFE needed.
Corporate development varies quite a bit by company, but seems to usually be M&A or strategy related.
def agree no MFE needed in an FP&A .
As an intern go Corp Dev

i'm left wondering how this would differ from an accounting role. part of my attraction to this role is that it's in a high-tech company, but i don't want to be typecast so early in my career as an accountant.
