spurs in 7. came out big last night w/ spurs. heat have lost the last 3 game 1s but have rebounded well. look for a tough and even matchup in terms of scoring and defense.

They lost 1 of the last 3 game ones. Not sure where you got your stats from...

Spurs in 6. The Heat actually didnt play bad last night even got decent production out of Wade and Bosh the difference is Tony Parker he took over the end of the 4th. Will be interesting to see how LeBron reacts to the game one lost might not pass as much but that might play into the Spurs hands.

When did Wade stop being good at basketball?

When he couldnt be bothered to actually work on a jumpshot, as his athletic ability is on the wane. People criticise Dwight for his FTs but Wade is a poor 3pt shooter, his midrange game is average but he was great finishing around the rim. Now that thats no longer possible for him 10 times a game, he's being exposed. He complains so much, is a dirty player and coasts way too much on defense now. Basically he's become pretty average now.

I have been a LBJ fan ever since he came to the NBA scene and I want to say Heat in 7, but Dwayne Wade isnt at 100% and Bosh is playing like a cowardly idiot. Why he decided it would be a good idea to start shooting 3s and not get in the paint befuddles me. LBJ has a supposedly "better" cast than when he played the Spurs in 2007 but his cast is proving that it will once again turn into LBJ vs Spurs and because of that I say Spurs in 6.

I dislike Bosh but I give him credit for adapting his game. If he was in the post, LeBron wouldnt be and he's the better post player. Bosh's decent off the dribble so maybe he should do more of that. His rebounding is atrocious though. I've heard arguments about how he's rebounding less because he's boxing out better for the better athletes to rebound. However, if LeBron is the only real athlete left in that team, how much shit do they need him to do?

LeBron is being severely underpaid by that team.

Spurs in 5. Parker made an awesome play at the end that could only be described as, "this is either going to go really well or really shitty." It went awesomely well for the team.

Disclosure: I hate LBJ.

in it 2 win it

OKC last time won game one and heat ended up taking it. I want Spurs to win hopefully they take it in game 6. I want T-Mac to have a ring so badly. Even though hes only played like three games.

Yeah but OKC had no fucking offensive plan aside from KD 30 footers and Westbrook going nuts in open court. Spurs are a pretty well oiled machine and they have the home court advantage now. Its going 7 but the next game should be huge in deciding the fate of this series.

Spurs in 6. LBJ has been getting no support from the rest of the Heat for the entire playoffs. It'll be near impossible to beat the Spurs without a complete team. Parker is on another level right now.

I'm hoping for Spurs in 6. As much Lebron hate as there is on this board, I'm pretty resigned to the fact the guy can win 2 games on his own at this stage of his career. His triple double last night looked so casual and that was with the intention of getting bosh and wade their shots early.

Thats the problem with the Heat, LeBron should not be leading your team in scoring, rebounds and assists. He had 18 rebounds, the next closet was Bosh with 5, that is unacceptable...he had 10 assists and the team as a whole had 20, Cole was the next closet with 4. LeBron can tripple double all series long and it won't matter when they don't have other players doing their part, no reason a 7ft tall Chris Bosh should be standing on the 3pt line time after time

Exactly. See: Lebron James Cleveland days

The Heat lost by four points and only LeBron played really well for the Heat. If guys start hitting their open looks, Heat should win in 6. Let's not act like the Heat got blown away last night. It was a tight game. Spoelstra is great at making adjustments, expect the Heat to come out strong and win Game 2.

Btw, the LeBron hate on here is pathetic. He had a monster triple double and is as clutch as it gets at this point.

I dont even understand why there is soo much hate for Lebron. He is an amazing athlete that time and time again proves he is the best in the league and one of the best all time. If you are a cleveland fan than I understand, but leaving the Cavs was a business decision in the end. He wanted to win championships and he knew it wasnt going to happen with the Cavs. Athletes do this all the time in sports, they want to go and play with a team that gives them the best chance possible to win. I will go ahead and say that hour long SC special "The Decision" was a waste of time and a huge dick move but get over it. I honestly dont understand where all of this Lebron hate comes from unless you haters are just jealous and upset he isnt on your team. I am not a Miami Heat fan and it did not affect me at all when he went to Miami. I am just a fan of Lebron and what he is able to do on the basketball court night after night and I personally want to see him win.

He actually apologized for the Decision (along with some other things) last year. He honestly matured so much after losing to the Mavs. Arguably the biggest turning point of his career.

People that say he isn't clutch or anything in that ballpark are not studying the game at any serious level. Little Skip Bayless juniors.

So you hate every player in the NBA? Bitching about fouls is ubiquitous. The Pacers acted like they don't have arms on every foul last series and Duncan/Ginoblir complain with the best.

I agree with TheKing, the Lebron hate is fucking stupid. The guy is one of the smartest players in the history of the league. Btw, he has hit more clutch playoff shots at a higher percentage than anyone in the last decade.

Would have loved West to take him out. I dont even know where Haslem gets this rep, he's never been in a scrap on the floor and just dishes out hard fouls to players who'd never retaliate. Saying that however, he's pretty big in this series if his shot is falling. He becomes the 3rd scorer by default then when either Bosh or Wade suck.

Agreed. So over my LeBron hate (despite his embarrassing flops) but this team needs him way too much. He's gonna wear down, if he hasnt already.

Spurs in 6. Duncan is gonna go out with his 5th title and cement himself as one of the best (underrated) ever. The Heat are too top heavy with only LBJ as a consistent threat. Wade played well last night and they still couldn't pull it out. And Bosh is awful, just absolutely awful. He is no C or PF he should be a SF on a scrub team somewhere.

Spurs in 6 or 7, depending on what the result of Game 2 is. LeBron is dragging this team like he's back in Cleveland. They barely got past a sloppy Indiana team but now they don't have the lack of discipline from the other side to bail them out.

If Dwayne Wade and Bosh show up to play, the Heat will win in 6. Even so, I personally think they'll win in 7, but it's contingent upon a lot of things.

Something I would've liked to see more of is Norris Cole putting the full court press on Tony Parker and switching on the pick and roll. The Spurs have an offense that can score off the dribble, but if they're pestered enough, I think Miami's speed is capable of quieting them down. Chris Bosh absolutely lit up the playoffs last year with his 3 point shooting--if he doesn't get hot again, or at least lukewarm, the Heat don't stand a chance.

The way last series went for both teams, it would surely look like the Spurs have the momentum and energy. But, Lebron is the best player in the world, and has grown up a lot since two seasons ago. If the Heat do actually lose, it won't be in less than 7 games.

The spurs have 3 straight games at home. Loosing game 1 at home after all of the hype of the series clinching game in the previous round the heat have lost any momentum they might have had. If the Heat dont win by double digits in game 2 the series is over.

Cole isnt in the game long enough to do that and even if he starts to do so, Manu will take over the ball handling duties. Chalmers should be more of a pest but he's too concerned with his jumpshot (pisses me off when he keeps his follow through so long) to make a defensive impact. I think most of the team are buying into their own hype. Indiana let Game 1 slip, otherwise they'd be in the finals right now.

Spurs in 5. They proved last night that they can win in Miami. Now SA has home court advantage having the 3 middle games at home.

Tough to call. Being a basketball fanatic, watching both teams this season has been something else. Miami does have the advantage in athleticism and the best player on the planet, but the Spurs have a amazingly deep understanding of their system and how each person plays exactly to their role. I am leaning towards Miami in 7, but oddly enough I would not be shocked if the Spurs won in 6 (A cop out, I know, I know). For Miami, they need to understand that you have to bring your best effort each night and each quarter. They have to find a way to penetrate with precise cuts, along with pick and rolls, to throw the Spurs off their defensive game plan. Also, Lebron and Spolestra needs to do whatever it is to remind Bosh of his size and length and stop playing so far from the paint. Wade is what he is at this point, so it is more about picking his spots. Really, the Heat's ability to create open shot opportunities for their shooters will be a key factor in the series. As for the Spurs, Green and Leonard (but moreso Green) need to hit those open shots when given them. It says a lot more for the Heats woes that Spurs did not even play that well while Miami gave a decent effort last night. Look forward to a fun (and hopefully long) series...

Spurs in 6

It has potential to be a great series if wade & bosh show up and decide to play like their worth $100+ million each, LBJ can't carry the whole team. That is why I say Spurs in 6, they can't stop Duncan or Parker, and if they do collapse on TP, he can kick to Green, Leonard, Ginobili etc.

Also Gregg Popovich>>>>>>>Erik Spoelstra

Pop's the best current coach in the NBA right now in my opinion, I'd even put him above Doc Rivers. One of the best all time behind Phil Jackson of course, no coach is on that mans level.

LeBron is no doubt a great player and the best player in the NBA at the moment. It'll be interesting to see how his game evolves as he gets older and his athleticism starts to fade. I believe that's how truly dominant players separate themselves from the other hall of famers -- their ability to sustain a high level of play even when they can't keep up with the young guys anymore. Kobe used to play a much more physical game back in the day, slashing to the basket with reckless abandon more often than taking jump shots. As he got older, he honed his jump shot to the point where you didn't want him getting a clean look from anywhere on the floor (still don't understand how he hits those off-balance contested fadeaways so goddamn consistently...). I want to see if LeBron can do the same thing. I'm sure he will still be able to contribute as he's already shown that he's a great passer and rebounder, but I'd like to see if he can still put up points when he's no longer so ridiculously big and fast.

Also, what do you guys think about Dennis Rodman's comment that LeBron would simply be "average" if he played in the '90's?

design:
Also, what do you guys think about Dennis Rodman's comment that LeBron would simply be "average" if he played in the '90's?

Rodman's a fucking nutcase. Sure, the eras are different but to call him average in any era is ridiculous. I dont know why these past players are getting so much air time of late. First with Karl Malone with leaving out MJ from his all-time starting line up and now this? I get the idiot media (ESPN) needs their stories but we have a finals series going on.

Saying that, I'm seriously getting tired of the Jordan-LeBron comparisons. Different players, different mentalities, and different resumes.

Basically, this series is coming down to whether Wade can support LeBron. I get he's injured but who isnt after almost a 100 games this season? He cant finish at the rim like he used to because he's lacking the elevation so here's where a proper jumpshot would have been great. His fake isnt fooling anyone anymore (check out how Indiana adjusted after like midway Game 2) and then he has to pass the ball out again. He left Danny Green open 3 times that I counted at least for his 3s so he's not even doing it on the other end.

Bosh is taking some fucked up shots. Although its cool he adjusted his game to fit LeBron's, he's exclusively become a jumpshooter and it isnt falling right now. Miami are pretty flawed despite the best player on the planet. They can't rebound, take too many possessions off on defense and coast basically on LeBron's greatness.

Its going to be so interesting if the Heat lose. I dont see how they can keep on Wade despite him being the franchise before LeBron. His contract sucks if this is who he is from now on. And they need Bosh too much to get rid of him. Major questions I think. Every other team is getting better and the Knicks will definitely be better next season (if they get rid of that moron Mike Woodson), while the Nets could be better depending on their choice of coach, and the Bulls are getting Derrick Rose back. Don't see how they remain favourites again. They'll probably just ask LeBron to do more lifting.

LeBron haters will be out in force. Although saying that, He looks so scared taking that jumpshot. Wade is completely fucking up on defense. Missing Danny Green so many times and giving help when its not necessary. Dude has been lighting it up and he helps off of onto Splitter?

Before if LeBron had a bad series, Wade could cover the slack but Wade needs to be carried now. Wonder how LeBron will react, although I really dont want to see a summer of people on ESPN dissecting whats wrong with LeBron.

Back when Boston and LA used to meet up frequently in June, players, coaches, and broadcasting staff would have to go back and forth so often, causing fatigue and increased expenses. This scenario ensures that at most are taken as opposed to 4.

It also makes thing a lot more interesting. Stealing a road Game 1/2 becomes even bigger, and when it's 3-2 you either have to home games or two road games.

LEBRON AT CENTER!!!

If I was Pop, I'd sub out Splitter for Diaw in the first 2 minutes and post Lebron's ass all day.

Lebron's about to go HAM and score 40. This will come down to whether the Spurs can limit the Heat role players. If I'm Pop I change my strat completely and single cover Lebron, let him get 40 and stay home at all the shooters.

The Heat actually played with this lineup in the Finals; I'm sure Pop knows what to do.

We can argue about the no-call in OT. But I see no point.

That was the biggest crunch time choke in recent NBA history. I don't think any NBA team has ever been that close to a championship. One rebound, or two free throws. The most shocking this is that this is the Spurs. This is Popovich. LeBron brought them back, then choked the game away in 4 straight possessions and you can't secure the rebound of your life on the last 2.

What a completely absurd no-cal on Ginobili. That was the DEFINITION of a foul, got completely destroyed across the arm. Are you serious? Cost the Spurs the game smh.

Totally agree. Slapped him right across the arm. And not to mention Bosh's foul on Green with the game-tying 3. Van Gundy says both are typically fouls. Yes, fouls and calls are always missed here and there throughout the game but when it's the very end, calls need to be 100% accurate (like when they reviewed the ball going off of Lebron's hands). Despite the Spurs crumbling down the stretch, Ginobli should have had a chance to shoot two free throws and put the Spurs up one with a few seconds left (and Green with 3 free throws). This is bogus.

Horrendous call on that Ginobili play. I'm still confident Spurs win Game 7. LeBron, although numbers were solid, had an inefficient game and clearly is out of gas. However, I wouldnt put it past him to roar back.

What was amazing though was that Miami 'fans' left the game with the Heat down 2. When they heard it was OT, they tried to get back. Cops were called to prevent them getting back in. Embarrassing.

I'm inclined to agree. My first thought was Spurs in 5, then after game 2 I thought Spurs in 6. But they just finished throwing away game 6 (which I personally blame on that missed free throw at the very end of 4Q) and they're not playing on home territory. They'll have to not only repeat what they did in game 6, they'll have to do it without messing up at the end. I just don't see that happening, though.

in it 2 win it

I can never say a team that wins doesn't deserve to win. But Miami sports fans don't deserve to win any championships. Even if you think you're about to lose, you cheer your team lightly after the buzzer and leave when the Spurs start their ceremony. And according to Van Gundy and Mike Breen (ESPN) the Miami fans started bad mouthing LeBron and Bosh while the game was still going on!
