NSFW Episode 1: QE2, Housing, Commodities
Well, guys, there you have it. Let us know what you think about the first episode.
The books we recommended were:
Economics in One Lesson: The Shortest and Surest Way to Understand Basic Economics
and
Assholes Finish First
Check 'em out, they're both great.
If there are any topics you want to see us cover, leave them in the comments.
If you are looking for honest feedback, the format is a bit creepy. For content, I would like to see more debate, rather than bringing up points that are not really challenged by the other party -- i.e. a bull and bear on each topic.
ANONYMOUS?!?!?!?1 midas mulligan ?!?!
It's hard to take someone seriously when they are wearing a guy fawkes mask.
I agree with the above poster. There wasn't much debate.
For a first attempt I thought it was decent, but obviously a lot to improve on....first, it was a bit awkward in the beginning which is understandable.......I kind of like the idea of remaining anonymous, but it was a little tough to hear you clearly through the mask (maybe my speakers just suck).....I think there needs to be more structure as the people above said..do it like PTI and have a list of like 5 topics to talk about (4 serious topics and maybe 1 funny story of the week) and keep it short, entertaining & debate against each other.....but keep it up, look forward to the next one....and good idea to add this to the site
i liked it a lot actually. Debating is annoying because people just end up yelling over each other. I liked how they just talk about the issues in the marketplace and just offering the opinions with a laid back approach. I could definately listen to this while working on vba. Keep up the good work!!
You guys are expecting too much; if you want something more structured then there's always CNBC.
I like it the way it is.
The video is fine, it be cool if someone can make a transcript available after these debates sometime in the future
midas talks exactly how he writes lol
We want to see your faces!!!
should have balbasur vs one of you ass clowns
Eddie has a non flat screen tv haha
Edmundo-I would like you to know that last night I got wasted and walked into a 7-11 to get a drink. Go to the cashier and I see a stack of your playboys lying on the floor behind the cashier. I say "Oh, and I'll take that Playboy too" What I did not realize was that a 12 yr old girl and her mother had gotten in line behind me (although don't know why they were there since it had to be 12am). I look behind me and see the shocked look on the mother's face and without missing a step...I lift up the mag and say "A good friend of mine wrote one of the articles, you should read it"..I then walkout like nothing unusual had happened.
On the video, solid first effort and I look forward to seeing more. Great Job.
Great video. Eddie, were you drinking some scotch there? (or maybe just some kool-aid?)
I'd like to hear more about your opinions on where rates are heading and the ensuing "war" in foreign exchange.
Thanks. It was Mount Gay rum, actually, or as it is affectionately known in the Braverman household, "Kidz-B-Gon".
That's a great suggestion. I just finished writing a paper on that very subject for a European economics journal, so I have some thoughts on the matter (I know, shocker, right?).
Gekko21, that's hilarious - thanks for the laugh.
I thought it was great guys... fun to listen too!
Hmmm... looks like MMM must spend some time to write his posts.
Good show, gentlemen! Looking forward to the next edition.
And great article about you in Playboy, Eddie. I'll bring the rum, you bring the stories!
Interesting video. I like the concept and where it is moving towards.
Great video, looking forward to the next.
Agree with the book recommendation; Austrian Theory needs to be promoted more.
Monty09 has his mask ready and his drank of choice... beam me up scotty
Definitely a great start. Would love to see more of the major players here included as well, Monty, Anthony, etc.
eddie, my buddy is long rushville, il
Haha. Just looked it up on Wikipedia - population 3,200.
I like where his head's at.
I enjoyed it; the sound was not an issue for me, if you have powerful enough speakers the voices can be herd quite clearly. Good stuff ! keep them coming !
Definitely some thoughts on currency for the next episode. Not just near term stuff, but maybe a broad global look 10/20 yrs down the road. Fate of the Euro, the aftereffects of all the printing on the dollar etc.
Keep it up guys. I love bringing new stuff to the website.
+1 for Hazlitt
Can somebody post an alternative link to the video please? Many thanks.
