Wall Streeter Yearbooks: the 70's

The 1970’s, a time of great turbulence; The Vietnam War had stretched on for almost a decade, and finally ended with undesired results. The crash of 1973 and its following recession almost brought the whole world to its knees, and with oil and energy crises just around the corner, things weren’t looking so good.

Nixon had Watergate,

disbanded, Morrison and Hendrix passed away, platform shoes and polyester became cool, and ^cult behavior had started to rear its ugly head.

But beyond these tragedies and embarrassments, the 70’s was a time of great progress; it was the golden age of arcade games, and right on its heels was the advent of the personal computer, making Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack household names.

Movie masterpieces like The Godfather was released, Star Wars blew the minds of young and old alike, and Bruce Lee brought martial art films to the world. On TV, “jiggle” television celebrated feminine strength and freedom, particularly from the bra.

It was in this era of hippie love and advancing technology that today’s movers and shakers grew up in.

Let’s see what they were like in their bell-bottomed glory:
