I applied online last October, completed only an online assessment, no video interview. I did not hear back for three four months. Then I received an email for first round interview, with about five days to prepare. The first round interview is constituted of two 1 on 1 interviews, with each interview lasting 30 minutes. The first interview is essentially a behavioral interview conducted by an SVP of Risk and Control. The interview questions were mostly the common behavioral questions you can expect. The other interview was mostly technical based, done by another SVP of a product line.

Presentation
Interview
First was a phone screen that was pretty standard in terms of behaviorals and basic motivational (why S&T?, why CITI, etc). I think I got to this point by networking beforehand. Then there was the superday which included 3 interviews. 1 involved a case study that involved assessing various investment options (involving equities, commods, and bonds) as a "portfolio manager" amidst some macroeconomic conditions). Another was a bit more technical about markets asking for my opinion on various market things like the current outlook, rates, and my outlook on economies around the world. The last was again more behavioral/motivational.
Interview Questions
opinion on affect of deglobalization on markets (equities and bonds)

Interview
My Citi interview process was one of the most challenging interviews in my career. It started with a phone call from their London office and subsequently a written test. I had previously written one before in the past and already had a learning curve. The test was a test for speed in reasoning so I knew my most important hurdle was time efficiency with the answers. I scaled through this stage and was invited to the next stage - a panel interview. The questions were technical, focusing on Excel, corporate banking credit analysis, and commercial awareness. I remember the question on the 5c's of credit and a description of the credit writing process. I nailed this question by wrapping my credit writing around the 5c's of credit by matching it with a relevant title in a typical credit term sheet. I was shaking after this interview for about an hour. The panelists were stern. This was how tough it was. I was elated when I was invited to the next round. A one- one-on-one with the executive director. She tested me mainly on commercial awareness and the ability to spot opportunities. She interviewed me twice in two weeks. I answered most of her questions which I can't recall very well. The interview with the MD was the last and it was the most interesting. I left the interview with a new viewpoint and learning. It was a question about the macroeconomic situation in my country and I was quick to assert that my country was an import dependent country and why the country should export more. I learned from the MD during the interview about Net Import Countries and Net Export Countries. He dived into the topic expanding my perspective on the topic and how the trade deficit should be rightly viewed. The last interview gave a good insight into the company culture as the MD lightly chatted whilst expanding my viewpoint. I got the job and had the most profound experiences in my career at the company.
